Receipt Disclaimer

SaleSafe records information acknowledged during a private transaction. SaleSafe does not verify ownership, authenticity, identity, item quality or payment, and does not provide escrow, insurance, legal advice or a guarantee against fraud.

What a SaleSafe receipt shows

  • The item information the seller entered before the sale.
  • The condition and known issues the seller disclosed.
  • The photos attached at that time.
  • The price shown to the buyer.
  • Which acknowledgements the buyer confirmed, and when they accepted.

What it does not show

  • That the seller owned the item or had the right to sell it.
  • That the item is authentic or working.
  • That either person is who they said they were.
  • That payment was made or received.

About the Evidence ID

Each accepted transaction gets a SHA-256 fingerprint calculated from its recorded details and photo fingerprints. If any stored detail were altered afterwards, the fingerprint would no longer match. This is a tamper-detection aid only. It is not a blockchain, not a notarisation, and not proof of anything beyond the stored record.
